Lead Wireless Networking Engineer (Polygraph Clearance)


Position Description:

  • Assessing mobile wireless technology trends, commercial and government solutions for a variety of projects and government sponsors

  • Assessing security and resiliency of wireless protocol and radio implementations

  • Defining and creating wireless (e.g. cellular, WiFi, etc.) test networks, test scenarios, and tools for collecting and analyzing results

  • Supporting evaluation exercises: preparation, field test and execution, and post-event analysis


Required Qualifications:

  • BS (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer

  • Knowledge of cellular systems from the edge to the core for 3G and LTE

  • Knowledge of internal cellular protocols (Diameter, SIP, SS7)

  • Knowledge of VoIP, VoLTE, and WiFi offloading

  • Knowledge of 802.11x wireless specifications and protocols

  • Knowledge of Bluetooth wireless specifications and protocols

  • Knowledge of RFID

  • A deep understanding of related network specifications

  • Experience with setting up IP networks

  • Ability to effectively communicate and brief wireless network architecture, protocol, and security concepts as a technical advisor or technical mentor

  • Ability to communicate technical and business requirements with wireless network solutions vendors

  • Implementation and management of infrastructure/service monitoring and alerting

  • Familiarity with implementing and maintaining NIST 800-53 Security Controls / RMF compliance for the above

Preferred Qualifications

One or more of the following skills are desirable:

  • Ability to organize a team of engineers, distribute work, develop schedules, and reshape research as needed

  • Experience with core network configuration and debug / evaluation

  • Understanding of RF communications, cellular waveforms, and signal processing concepts

  • Experience in cryptography and security, including key-agreement protocols, authentication, encryption, and related concepts

  • Experience with embedded systems and the implementation of wireless protocol stacks
