Thisposition will perform multifaceted systems engineering and systems analysiscapacity within the Nuclear Command and Control mission area. Requirementsanalysis, architecture development, systems analysis, end-to-end engineering,and gap analysis are required for this position. The successful candidate forthis position will provide key analyses and recommendations formulti-million-dollar, mission-critical NC2 systems. The candidate will oftenserve as the government’s technical representative and interact with governmentrepresentatives and contractor personnel regularly. The duty location is Omaha,NE.


  • Analyze USSTRATCOM mission processes and supporting information technology inthe context of emerging concepts of operations, mission requirements, lifecyclecosts, & interoperability considerations.

  • Perform systems engineering analyses to identify functional and non-functionalrequirements, interfaces, environmental factors, transition strategies, costand risk considerations, and other issues pursuant to new or replacementcapabilities.

  • Develop supporting artifacts such as requirements specifications, top-levelsystem designs, interface specifications, technical roadmaps/strategies, riskmitigation approaches, transition strategies, acquisition approaches, etc. insupport of system or program goals.

  • Provide communications networking and cybersecurity recommendations to informrequirements lifecycle from generation through validation

  • Work with customer, government, contractor, and other stakeholders in a fullycollaborative environment. Leverage other efforts as appropriate to mitigaterisk and lifecycle costs.

  • Provide strategic technical guidance to acquisition and system developmentefforts to develop, evolve, and enhance NC2 systems and operations.

  • Work with senior decision makers and other stakeholders in a highly dynamicenvironment to refine and improve solutions leading to rapidly fieldedoperational capabilities.



  • Understanding of NC2missions and operations from the National level to the weapon systems,including relevant governing documents (e.g., National Technical PerformanceCriteria).

  • Understanding ofvarious NC2 platforms such as the fixed and mobile command centers as well asassociated communications systems operating within their operational and threatenvironments.

  • Application of deeptechnical systems engineering and system analysis to the NC2 mission area.

  • Ability to collaborate withother engineers and stakeholders to rapidly develop working solutions.

  • Ability to rigorouslyresearch problem and solution spaces and summarize findings both written andorally.


  • Strong background innuclear command and control operations, with ability to apply historicexperience to new and innovative concepts of operations and technical use.

  • Strong technicalbackground in systems engineering and system analysis or a related field.Demonstrated track record of providing actionable, innovative solutions basedon rigorous analysis and application of science, engineering, procurement andother skills to customer problems.

  • Experience incommunications networking and/or cybersecurity to include knowledge ofenterprise IT planning and migration, as well as cyber compliance andmitigation measures from a system's perspective as well as enterprise-widemission assurance perspective.

  • Excellent ability tocommunicate.

  • Ability to collaboratewith other professionals and organizations to leverage the full capabilities ofMITRE and other relevant organizations.


BSand 5 years related experience.
