As a member of MITRE's Health Transformation Technical Center, the ideal candidate would provide strategic support to the Department of Health and Human Services and other Federal Health departments and agencies as needed. The position requires significant general subject matter expertise in interoperability and meaningful use policy. This position also requires significant general subject matter expertise in health policy (discerning and identifying implications of policy or regulatory choices, projected outcomes, sector impacts, etc.)

Key Functions:

  • Providing health care policy thought leadership to MITRE's health care FFRDC.

  • Assisting federal health agencies with policy analysis in support of federal health program implementation, specifically interoperability and meaningful use policy.

  • Overseeing and developing technical products such as research papers, briefing papers, and recommendations to support program administration.

  • Working closely with federal agency staff to provide regulatory advice in support of program design, implementation and evaluation.

  • Analyzing policies, processes and healthcare strategies to facilitate effective MITRE support to federal agencies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 years experience in health policy at the federal, state or local level, developing, designing and implementing healthcare policies and programs, and providing healthcare thought leadership.

  • Expertise in interoperability and meaningful use policy.

  • A terminal degree (JD, MD, PhD) or advanced degree in public policy or health sciences field.
