The Cyber Operations and Effects Division is seeking a Division Chief Engineer to help lead the direction of the technical center’s capabilities. This individual will work with the Technical Director, Department Heads, and all division technical staff to advance development of bleeding edge capabilities in the areas of Adversary Emulation, Cyber Effects, Cyber Mission Support, Cybersecurity Analytics, Cybersecurity Operations Centers, Digital Forensics, and Security Orchestration.
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for:
Serving as a member of the Cyber Operations and Effects Senior Leadership Team and the MITRE Tech Center Engineering Council to advocate for technical interests and propose and advance new cross-cutting initiatives.
Providing thought leadership in the division’s capability areas while leading and participating in high-impact direct work efforts.
Developing a cohesive strategy for integrating and advancing the division capability areas and the visions of the capability area leads.
Ensuring quality of division work products, to include responsibility and strategic planning for publicly released material and external communications, publications, and engagements.
Mentoring division technical staff and helping to advance technical skills.
Serving as a division senior technical representative to outside stakeholders.
Demonstrated expertise and thought leadership in two or more of the division’s capability areas.
Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK model.
Demonstrated excitement for MITRE’s values and its sponsors’ missions.
Experience advancing technology for the DoD or Intelligence Community in the division’s capability areas.
Familiarity with relevant industrial community, conferences, and academic research. Experience with external publication and presentation is preferred.
Candidates must hold a Top Secret clearance. An active SCI and a current (within 5 years) adjudicated polygraph are strongly preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field, and 15 years of related experience.
Candidate must be willing to operate effectively at high levels within MITRE customers and potential customers organizations, recognizing and following through on opportunities in new areas and/or with new MITRE customers.
