Join MITRE’s growing Enterprise Strategy and Transformation Center, where we will provide you with challenging opportunities to apply and expand your business strategy, process improvement, innovation and transformation, and analytics skills.

We are looking for highly-motivated, adaptive, and self-directed graduate level interns with a wide variety of interests and a foundation of skills in business process related disciplines, with a focus on process improvement, innovation, analytics and optimization.

Our Business Process / Innovation interns will provide services to federal agencies and their subordinate offices. Services include enterprise-wide strategic planning, performance measurement against long-term goals, and process improvement and organizational redesign to maximize efficiency and maintain alignment with strategic direction. Responsibilities include:

  • Problem identification, solution development, and implementation.

  • Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, concepts comparable to those obtained with a master's degree in the fields listed below.

  • Being knowledgeable sponsors'/customers' missions, domains, challenges.

  • Fully responsible for deliverables-including definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Previously completed undergraduate degree in systems engineering or equivalent. Currently pursuing graduate level degree in Business or Public Administration, Organizational Development or equivalent degree; have: SSP (Strategic Planning Professional) / SMP (Strategic Mgmt. Professional) / Black Belt, Lean Six Sigma or ProSci (Change Mgmt.) Certification(s) and also meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in systems engineering and desire to focus on how to design and manage complex systems over their life cycles.

  • Demonstrated experience in business strategy, organizational performance mgmt., business process improvement, organizational development and/or change mgmt.

  • Sustained excellence in academic performance (3.0 GPA or higher).

  • High level desire to help their nation solve its most critical problems.

  • Exhibits the characteristics of a continuous learner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to or has already obtained US Gov't clearance.
