MITRE's Communications, SIGINT & PNT Department is looking for individuals with an understanding of SIGINT and EW mission applications,infrastructure, hardware, and software for both ground and airborne platform systems. This fast-paced Army program has a broad and dynamic set of projects that focuson research engineering, systems engineering, agile acquisition, cybersecurity, experimentation toward implementing electronic warfare capabilities.We are seeking innovative and energetic engineers to collaborate closely withour sponsors and team to identify critical problems and develop approaches toaddress them. Ideally, this candidate is a technical leader in their specificSIGINT capability area (e.g., phased-arrays, receiver design, customwaveforms, signal processing and/or demodulation, encryption, etc.). Preference will be given to those candidates who understand SIGINT and EW requirements, policies, andauthorities. However, introductory level knowledge is acceptable forcandidates possessing the core skills that have shown the ability to workindependently and rapidly learn new concepts.Workresponsibilities include:

  • Systemengineering function to inform, guide, and implement our sponsor’s SIGINT andEW modernization strategy to include advising on acquisition strategy andcontract language to ensure maximum value for the government

  • Serveas independent technical advisor on government SIGINT and EW working groups

  • Abilityto build strong relationships within MITRE internal resource organizations toprovide the government with critical subject matter expertise as needed

  • Actas an interface to remote engineering teams to support development and systemanalysis activities

  • Influencethe sponsor’s, MITRE’s, and the greater EW community’s long-term, strategictechnical development for specific missions

  • Coordinatewith related sponsors to understand their SIGINT investment strategies andenable cross-sponsor engagement

Positionrequires to be onsite with the government at Fort Brag with the need to travelto other locations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of DSPconcepts and communication technologies

  • Working knowledge ofcommunications theory including waveforms, modulation design, signalpropagation

  • Understanding of systemperformance analysis

  • Experience in laboratorytesting and experimentation

  • programming experience in Matlab, and at least one of Python and or C/C programming

Preferred Qualifications :

  • MS or PhD in EE, mathematics,or physics

  • Familiarity withcommunications analysis tools

  • Real time threading andprocessing architectures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS and 8 years related experience.
