MITRE has an exciting opportunity in the cyber domain where you will serve as a subject matter expert in cryptologic systems to influence the cryptographic solutions used in the Intelligence Community (IC). The position involves identifying system engineering challenges with design and integration of cryptologic solutions and working with various teams who will be developing solutions. The candidate will also be working with the government to analyze future cryptographic needs for the entire organization and to shape R&D activities that address those needs.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years’ related experience with 5 years' government cryptographic systems

  • CISSP or equivalent certifications; TS/SCI Polygraph.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or similar field

  • Strong interested in cryptography and solving cyber security challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and interact effectively with government sponsors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with the NSA Information Assurance Division on the development and certification of cryptographic systems

  • Understanding of DoD and Intel community acquisition processes

  • Experience with small R&D contracts (e.g. BAA)

  • Experience with all aspects of the program development lifecyle from requirements definition to integration and testing

  • Experience with DoD and IC key management architectures

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • At least 10 years' experience with government cryptographic systems
