MITRE's Mission Oriented Info Systems group is seeking a self-starter to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists to create custom digital signal processing solutions and communications systems in support of national security and defense. This individual will work with a small, distributed teams on software frameworks that support advanced hardware- and software-based signal processing systems.

Experience with reusable frameworks, library or software toolkit development, is highly desired.

Skill in multi-threading and performance optimization is also important.

In addition to understanding modern software engineering, the candidate will support core signal and image processing algorithms, hardware control, GUI design, and database development.

The candidate will be expected to demonstrate disciplined work habits leading to products that are well-structured, documented, and carefully tested.

This position includes direct interaction with end users and customers.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field, and 3 years of experience. Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to apply advanced principles, theories and concepts comparable to those obtained with a Master's degree in a relevant field of study. Candidate should understand the missions, domains and challenges of MITRE customers. In addition, the candidate understands that he/she will be fully responsible for deliverables-including definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span.

  • 5 years of experience in practical system development and deployment.

  • Demonstrated mastery of C/C development in Linux.

  • Experience with reusable framework design and development.

  • Strong math and analytical skills.

  • Experience with MIDAS (preferably X-MIDAS) framework and Python.

  • Above experience in a classified environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital signal processing, preferably in a classified


  • Experience with the REDHAWK framework.

  • Experience supporting SIGNINT processing systems.
