The SATNAV and Spectrum Superiority Department provides innovative solutions to National Defense and Homeland Security. Our team comprises experienced engineers and nationally recognized expertise, working directly with the sponsors and supplying them with vision, innovation, Sensor Systems engineering, Precision Navigation and Timing (PNT), Space Systems, Geolocation & Counter-Geolocation, and Cyber & EW Systems engineering supports.

We are currently seeking a system engineer with strong data processing and data analysis skills to join our team. The candidate will participate in the development of advanced sensor systems for homeland security and national defense. Activities include systems analysis, modeling, simulation, statistical analysis, data analysis, design of experiments, algorithm development, technology assessments, and field testing. The candidate will also support design, prototyping and field testing of prototype homeland security systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field and 8 years related experience. The candidate should possess the ability to define projects or programs greater than themselves. Candidate understands that he/she will be responsible for work and/or customer relationship development and will acts according to—and guides others toward—the proper balance of a) product depth with timeliness and b) technical improvements with programmatic constraints, even when hard compromises are required. Preferred candidates will be recognized by senior management as a thought leader.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Geophysics or related scientific field, or equivalent experience in technical analysis. The applicant should be experienced in defining and developing applied mathematical models and simulations related to real-world problems. Experience in analyzing sensor systems, signal processing, developing algorithms, optimization, or data fusion techniques, as well as experience analyzing sensors used for Department of Homeland Security or Department of Defense. The applicant should demonstrate strong leadership skills and must also be able to independently develop an analysis approach, and interpret and present results to a broad audience. Strong communications skills and ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment are necessary.
