MITRE's Enterprise Technical Computing (ETC) division provides multiple compute services to MITRE research organizations. Our Big Data Analysis and High-Performance Computing group is looking for an experienced Linux systems administrator with High Performance Computing (HPC) experience and programming skills, to join our team.
Maintain, monitor, and mitigate operations for ETC HPC clusters
Provide technical support to the MITRE HPC user community via the corporate trouble ticketing system.
Set up, conduct, and document performance and evaluation tests or experiments.
Develop, modify, and maintain documentation on the clusters and related processes.
Install software, including programming languages; GPU, and other device drivers.
Develop and apply “best practices” for maintaining scheduler fairness
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, engineering, or an associated field.
Journeyman level Linux, or other UNIX flavors: CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, Mac OS X
Experience with docker, singularity, or another container technology.
Hands on experience with basic computer networking and routing.
Programming in at least 1 of the following languages: C, C , Perl, Python, Java, shell scripts
Familiarity with HPC-specific resources, such as GPUs, FPGAs, Singularity, MPI, Infiniband, OmniPath, process scheduling software: PBS, Torque, Moab, Condor, slurm…
Troubleshooting basic internet protocols (DNS, DDNS, DHCP, BOOTP, SMTP, S/FTP, HTTP/S, NFS, CIFS/SMB, PKI, TCP, UDP, MPI)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field.
