Shape the future of the MITRE Corporation’s digital presence by leading the development and implementation of MITRE’s digital presence and outreach strategies, with a focus on content, to shape and strengthen MITRE’s external brand and corporate reputation among sponsors, potential customers, partners, academic and policy influencers, media and the analyst community. Work with the Strategic Communications team and leverage experience with digital outreach strategy and communications to evaluate, design, and implement compelling digital engagement solutions that drive successful business outcomes.

In this newly established position, the Digital Outreach Manager will lead a team to develop and execute the corporation’s digital strategy. Working in close collaboration with Strategic Communications peers and partners, the Digital Outreach manager will deploy sector-specific content strategies to engage a broader audience for MITRE research and work in the public interest.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement best practices for content creation and distribution, channel strategies, training, and measurement to demonstrate ROI and drive insights for decision-making. Work with internal staff to support digital content and user experience requirements. Maintain a thorough knowledge of current and emerging trends, methods, and technologies, and provide thought leadership.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to spearhead, gather and translate ideas into actionable and successful digital campaigns and solutions including email, display/paid social advertising, and web-based products.

  • Guide the development of engaging and actionable content and experiences through MITRE’s digital channels, with a focus on total user experience across channels.

  • Drive social strategy and digital ad execution by working directly with the team on integrated campaigns that drive business goals.

  • Work collaboratively with design and technical teams to plan, execute and manage digital campaigns.

  • Manage search engine optimization and outreach efforts including keyword research and paid search reporting/program monitoring; coordinate reporting associated with all paid advertising and paid social campaigns. Experience in other digital or traditional media channels a plus, SEM, SEO, etc.

  • Support technical and reporting aspects of digital campaigns, ability to execute operational tasks needed by internal team or company to meet goals.

  • Create and maintain metrics reports on outreach activities, effectiveness, and business impact.

  • Support creative webinar and event development and promotion.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must have a real passion for storytelling and the power of content.

  • Minimum of 8 years of digital marketing experience.

  • Strong management experience (minimum 5 years) and innate ability to mentor and develop team members

  • Campaign management experience.

  • Solid understanding of digital environments, principles and terminology

  • Strong creative approach a must as well as the ability to develop and drive integrated content and digital programs that support business goals.

  • Solid understanding of search engine optimization success factors

  • Ability to understand relevant connections among key audiences and assets and quickly conceptualize ways to orchestrate them

  • Strong passion for digital communications and staying current with the latest outreach tools and tactics

  • Exceptional team player with ability to thrive in a fluid, fast-paced environment

  • Willingness/ability to learn new subject matter and technologies quickly

  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
