MITRE's Cyber InfrastructureDepartment seeks a passionate, creative Cyber Operations Engineer to support networkdefense and cyber resiliency in enterprise networks, as well as cloud-based andvirtualized environments. The successful candidate will discover and develop solutionsthat allow AF systems to anticipate, withstand, and recover from cyber threats.
Collaborate with MITRE staff, projectsponsors, and military personnel to develop and deliver practical solutions towarfighter problems.
Create and test architecturalprototypes in MITRE labs to validate assumptions related to cyber security and cyberresiliency.
Build and understand networking solutions that block, reroute, ordeceive adversaries in a contestedcyber domain.
Use enterprise tools, such as Splunk,to detect network anomalies.
Apply artificial intelligence/machinelearning to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the protection and defenseof critical services.
Desired Skills (nice to have):
Experience with Kali Linux, Security Onion,or other security distributionsAdvanced experience with programmingand scripting
Ability to write and present technicalmaterial in the form of proposals, white papers, technical reports, andpresentations
Understanding of networking protocolssuch as Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP (management and configuration)
- BS and 0-4 years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field. Candidate should possess the ability to be responsible for deliverables or parts of deliverables to MITRE customers
