This position will serve as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) for our Aberdeen, MD site and be responsible for ensuring the protection of National Security Information in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The candidate will successfully implement a security program that meets and/or exceeds NISPOM, sponsor, and MITRE’s security requirements. Their success will focus on the partnership with our customers and employees in order to manage and implement this security program, which minimizes security risks, provides comprehensive security training, and advances MITRE’s mission by aligning security solutions with business needs while delivering value. The position requires the ability to manage and implement all facets of security disciplines, to work with minimal supervision, and to engage with senior level customers and diverse personalities in order to enable short term and long range deliverables. The candidate must also understand and implement any individual sponsor requirements while collaborating with MITRE programs/projects to also ensure their objectives are being successfully accomplished.
Successful completion of DSS FSO Program
Thorough understanding of related DoD security policies including DoD 5220.22-M (NISPOM), and other DoD compliance regulations
Possess practical knowledge of, and experience with the following:
JPAS, e-QIP, SIMS and ISFD; Derivative Classification, DD254s, DSSOBMS, and classified information systems
Performing all aspects of security to include personal, physical, program, technical, visitor control; CAC card processing, classification management and COMSEC management
Utilizing requirements set forth in the NISPOM, DD-254s, and other applicable government directives and guidance.
Supporting Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for accreditation, inventory, auditing, configuration management and decertification of classified systems including SIPRNET and corporate classified networks
Investigating security incidents and violations
Acting as a document custodian for classified document control support
Conducting internal self-inspection to include documentation of preparations, conduct of inspections and taking corrective action on findings
- BS and 3 years related experience.
