The MITRE Corporation Center for Programs and Technology is looking for a technical leader in the area of human factors to focus on designing and executing human-in-the-loop experiments in aviation and transportation, conducting safety data analyses, developing future aviation and transportation concepts, working across FAA, DOT, and commercial communities.

The position requires strong problem-solving skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be self-motivated, willing to learn new things, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders. US. Citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Key Functions:

Experimental design for Human-In-The Loop studies, statistical data analyses, development of high level concepts, operational impact studies, metrics development, and safety analyses. Candidates need to show leadership in these areas and be able to communicate across levels that include external user communities, internal senior management, and technical staff.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Factors, Experimental or Engineering Psychology, or Industrial Engineering, and three years of experience in designing and conducting Human-In-The-Loop experiments, and performing statistical analyses of Human Factors data.In addition, the candidate should have experience with research and development of aviation systems, and an understanding of the latest Human Factors issues and cutting-edge solutions. Peer-reviewed publications, experience with tradeoff studies, and knowledge of flight deck or air traffic control operations are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Human Factors, Experimental or Engineering Psychology, or Industrial Engineering and five years of experience in designing and conducting Human-In-The-Loop experiments, performing statistical analyses of Human Factors data, and experience with research and development of aviation systems.

Ph.D. in Human Factors, Experimental or Engineering Psychology, or Industrial Engineering and two years of experience in designing and conducting Human-In-The-Loop experiments, performing statistical analyses of Human Factors data, and experience with research and development of aviation systems
