Purpose Manage SCIF Construction Projects for the Washington Special Security Office (SSO) and maintain accreditation status of existing SCIFs.
Security Clearance Level SCI
Key Functions Manages SCIF construction projects for the MITRE Washington Special Security Office. Maintains accreditation status for all SCIF post construction to include physical modification and/or changes to any security sub-system.
Must apply sound risk management principles in completion of tasks.
Able to apply knowledge in all security disciplines relating to SCIF design, construction & accreditation.
Demonstrate expert knowledge in SCIF perimeter construction, Intrusion Detection Systems, Access Control methodologies, Secure and non-secure COMMs, acoustic attenuation, TEMPEST, Red/Black Separation, LAN/WAN wiring, Audio/Visual, Telephone Security, Electrical/Grounding/Filtering ,GSA approved Locking mechanisms, COMSEC, UL code, safety code.
Coordinates and deconflicts Sponsor security requirements with design and construction teams.
Primary focal point for all Sponsor coordination issues requiring resolution.
Duties also include:
• Validate need for SCIF to be established and advises project personnel of their responsibilities
• Work closely with Corporate security for alarm design and alarm response issues
• Act as SCIF site security manager ensuring contractors abide by strict security protocols
• Attend design and ongoing construction meetings to advise on complex security principles of SCIF construction requirements
• Inform and deconflict issues where evolving security requirements may impact schedule or budget
• Schedule sponsor accreditation inspections and complete requisite documentation
• Review and approve special security equipment orders
Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's plus 4 years experience in job-relevant work experience
Desired Education/Experience Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years security experience. At least five years of in-depth security experience with an emphasis on SCIF construction. In-depth understanding of the DCIDs, NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement and the DoD Overprint.
Required Skills: Must possess strong verbal, written communication and organizational skills. Should be well versed in Office Software applications. Candidate should be results oriented” and have strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to be promoted into the position of Supervisor.
Desired Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Travel Statement *This position will require overnight travel up to 5 % of the time.
