Purpose MITRE, listed on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For ten years in a row, is seeking a modeling and simulation engineer to provide technical support for our government sponsors.
Security Clearance Level Other
Key Functions The selected individual will be part of the Modeling and Analysis group, leading or supporting the development and application of modeling capability.
Work with sponsors to gain understanding of their business challenges, evaluate possible technical solutions, and developing prototypes/proof-of-concept models based on their needs.
Required Education/Experience: BS and 5 years of related experience or MS and 3 years of related experience or PhD and 1 year of related experience
Desired Education/Experience MS or PhD in computer science, Engineering, Operations Research, information management, or related fields. Experience in conducting data analysis, and developing models using various techniques, agent-based modeling technique in particular. Experience in conducting research project. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written skills when interfacing with team members, and with technical and programmatic sponsors.
Required Skills: Experience in data analysis and modeling techniques using COTS packages and open sources. Strong computational modeling and simulation experience.
Desired Skills Ability to work with customers. System Dynamics modeling, Agent-Based Modeling and Programming skills a plus.
Travel Statement * This position will require local travel in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and overnight travel up to 10% of the time.
