The Industrial Security Specialist provides supports the MITRE Industrial Security Program for the management and execution of security requirements for all aspects of the DoD classified programs. They will Independently determine and develop approaches to risk-based and cost-effective security solutions; while ensuring compliance to the NISPOM, and amplifying security regulations and instruction.
Apply a working knowledge of the NISPOM to manage the day-to-day operations of MITRE’s Document Control Office. Using this knowledge to determine, apply, monitor and ensure appropriate security requirements for the program.
Develop, review, coordinate, and execute Program Security documentation.Some examples of documentation include; DSS-147, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Emergency Action Plan.
Conduct all employee Indoctrination briefings to facilitate security instructions commensurate to the level needed to perform classified work on the program; as well as, periodic sponsor requirements.
Manage inspections and briefings to ensure a high-level of security awareness and reduction of security risks. Actively manage and participate in the required self and government compliance inspections.
Identifying and recommending long and short-range strategic security goals, to include corrective strategies and/or approaches to the government customer.
Assist employees with classified support of meetings and conferences.
Primary POC for all classified material entering or exiting the campus facilities
Minimum 5 years of contractor or government program security experience in regards to managing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and supporting GENSER programs
Working knowledge of NIPSPOM and its amplifying directives
Formal NIPOSM CDSE training
Associate's degree in business or technical field or equivalent, plus 5 years of experience including one year at the Specialist level or the equivalent in job-relevant work experience
