Duties will span systems, networks, facilities, and security assessments and planning. Security Clearance Level SCI Key Functions Develop plans for upgrading or replacing current intelligence processing and communications systems. Conduct requirements analyses, prepare task definitions for system and application development, and provide recommendations for managing development and acquisition activities. Research and recommend technical options for meeting anticipated requirements. Develop and help implement risk reduction strategies and prototypes. Collaborate with others, both within and outside MITRE, to apply the best possible mix of skills to each task. Clearly and effectively communicate key ideas and recommendations to sponsors and other MITRE staff. Required Education/Experience: BS and 5 years of related experience or MS and 3 years of related experience or PhD and 1 year of related experience Desired Education/Experience M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and/or related technical discipline. 5+ years experience in a technical field. Required Skills: Understanding of the relationships between operational, technical, and systems architectures. System engineering and requirements development/management experience. Technical or project/task leadership experience. Familiarity the principles of designing enterprise information systems and networks. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Desired Skills C/C++, Perl, and/or Java programming proficiency. Substantial experience in any of the following areas: system/network management, system/network security, cryptographic devices/systems, configuring network services (e.g., MPLS, VPNs, QoS, and VoIP), acquisition support, and computing facility design. Travel Statement *This position may require overnight travel up to 20 % of the time.
