Purpose As a member of MITRE's Defense Cyber Secuirty Team, you will contribute to solving cyber security problems in an operational environment, and lead others. You will contribute to the devleopment of solutions of information security problems for the DoD Cyber Community and apply your knowledge of operational Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) against the Advanced Persistent Threat. You will lead technical staff in addressing cyber challenges.
Security Clearance Level SCI
Key Functions Key technical responsibilities will include developing innovative countermeasures against advanced cyber threats, developing advanced cyber tools, recommending and implementing novel analysis techniques, and assessing novel network analysis techniques and alternative cyber investigation technologies such as binary pattern detectors.
Required Education/Experience: BS and 7 years of related experience or MS and 4 years of related experience or PhD and 2 years of related experience
Desired Education/Experience MS degree in computer science or a related technical field plus at least 5 years of experience performing large scale data analysis, and demonstrated innovation in problem solving.
Required Skills: Experience with technologies and techniques for large scale data analytics, especially as related to cyber defense. Also must possess a significant ability for independent problem formulation and solution, and leadership of small teams of technical contributors.
Desired Skills owledge of data analysis techniques, familarity with machine learning and decision analysis technologies, broad familiarity with the core technical areas of cyber defense, including malware analysis, intrusion detection and prevention, computer/network forensics, pentration testing and analysis, and reverse engineering. Windows and Linux kernel expertise. Ability to develop and apply new technical solutions to advanced cyber threat challenges. Experience performing technical reviews, coordinating with other analysts and leveraging relationships to benefit the work program. Ability to interact effectively with a variety of sponsors. Excellent writing and communications skills.
Travel Statement *This position will require overnight travel up to 5% of the time.
