Security Clearance Level Secret
Key Functions Provide communications systems engineering task leadership and technical support on MILSATCOM and other programs in El Segundo. Develop and analyze requirements, conduct system level and component level trade studies, specify radio frequency (RF) communications performance and interfaces, and advise on technology investments. Conduct trade studies on alternative radio/system design approaches. Develop technical white papers and briefings on MILSATCOM design and development issues. Participate and lead technical interchange meetings and government-led studies.
Required Education/Experience: BS and 5 years of related experience or MS and 3 years of related experience or PhD and 1 year of related experience
Desired Education/Experience MS in electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics with 10+ years experience in analysis, design, or development of digital communications systems or satellite communications systems.
Required Skills: Position requires experience in digital communications theory, detection and estimation theory, RF modulation techniques, error correction coding, spread spectrum techniques, multiple access techniques, and signal processing.
Requires demonstrated technical skills and senior leadership experience to understand and analyze complex communications problems and trades.
Requires ability to assess operational mission requirements and place results of technical studies into a systems engineering context.
Desired Skills Excellent interpersonal skills required for interaction with customers, project leaders, team members, and other government agencies. Proficiency in written communications skills also required.
Must work collaboratively within a team, or independently, as the situation requires.
Proficiency in computer analysis and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, STK, etc.) preferred.
Travel Statement *This position will require overnight travel up to 20% of the time.
