Purpose As an Analyst with MITRE, one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For for the tenth year in a row, you will assist a major new sponsor organization develop its contracting function, processes, and procedures. Experienced procurement analysts and other procurement and acquisition professionals are needed to assist in improving procurement processes, mentoring junior staff, and developing performance metrics.
Security Clearance Level Top Secret
Key Functions The primary job functions will be to work with government staff to develop or improve procurement documents, support all pre-award planning activities, recommend contracting strategies and plans, mentor junior staff and advise senior staff, and develop improved procurement processes and metrics to measure improvements (especially in terms of quality and timeliness).
Required Education/Experience: BS and 5 years of related experience or MS and 3 years of related experience or PhD and 1 year of related experience
Desired Education/Experience Three years experience as a U.S. Government Contract Specialist (GS-1102 Series); Master's degree in a related field; thorough familiarity with acquisition planning, source selection, procurement documentation such as Statements of Work, Independent Government Cost Estimates, and Justifications and Approvals; working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Required Skills: Verifiable and/or demonstrable ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Ability to explain acquisition requirements and best practices to people not familiar with them. Ability to devise acquisition strategies, acquisition plans, and develop and review acquisition documents and make improvements.
Desired Skills Acquisition management and execution, program management, and contracting.
Travel Statement *This position will require overnight travel up to 5% of the time.
