The candidate will support and execute sponsor-funded research and software development activities, conduct product evaluations and provide technical guidance to sponsors. The work will be performed in a state-of-the-art environment at a sponsor location in support of mission requirements. (FS01-RD) Security Clearance Level Top Secret Key Functions Work in a multi-disciplined and multi-contractor environment developing enterprise software components. The Developer will be designing and developing analytical tools that are accessing very large datasets. The analytical tools will be built utilizing a combination of COTS applications and programing languages. Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's plus 4 years experience in job-relevant work experience Desired Education/Experience BS in Computer Science Required Skills: • Systems engineering with a foundation in analysis, system design, lifecycle development, and deployment. • Experience developing large data store applications utilizing modern database techniques. • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, and possess a strong work ethic. • Demonstrate outstanding problem solving capabilities, creativity and an innovative spirit. • Experience with the design and development of secure, access-controlled, collaborative and information sharing environments. Desired Skills • Desired skills include some combination of the following: Knowledge of hands-on experience with Internet technologies such as HTTP, AJAX, XML, web services, and related emerging web standards & technologies. • Advanced Perl coding skills and experience with Java and/or other modern programming languages. • Ability to work and communicate in a team environment • Experience with team-oriented RAD development projects. • Development of web applications and associated large scale databases. • Knowledge of Open Source software tools & projects. • A well rounded software development engineer that also has a strong database design skills and experience with SQL query optimizations, stored procedures. • Experience with Geospatial data. • Experience with Speech to text technologies. • Experience with large data sets/analysis. • Ability to work with customers/stakeholders on technical issues. • Ability to adapt to changing requirements. • Expertise in principles of object-oriented software design and programming. • Ability to write and present technical material in the form of proposals, white papers, technical reports, and presentations.
